Abstract:

In recent years, we have demonstrated the precision spectroscopy of the 21S0-21P1(λ=2058 nm), 21P1-31D2 (λ=668 nm), 23P-33D (λ=587.7 nm), and spin-forbidden 23P-31D (λ=587.6 nm) transitions using optical frequency comb stabilized laser systems. The absolute frequencies of these transitions are accurately measured. Furthermore, the ionization energies of the helium low-lying states, such as 21S0, 21P1, 23S1, and 23P0 can be derived from our measured transition frequencies and compare with previous experimental value and theoretical calculations. Our results yield significant tests for QED calculations. In addition, the spectral lineshapes of the helium transitions, especially for 21S0-21P1 and 23P-31D transitions are investigated and analyzed.
